There will be 3 types of Continuing Care Accommodation
36 Care Bedrooms
A dedicated Nursing Care Unit with 36 rooms for those in need of 24-hour care. Registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The Care Bedrooms will be in family household groups of just twelve rooms, providing the residents with an opportunity to relate to the staff and form close friendships only possible in small groups.
All bedrooms will have full en-suite bathrooms. They will have telephones, televisions and the latest nurse call technology linked to a central computer. The call system will alert the care staff via a dect computer handset, which directs help to the specific resident in need. Additionally, assisted bathrooms will be situated within the nursing unit. The care bedrooms will be fully fitted and furnished, though residents may bring their own furniture.
18 Close Care Units
These will be available to buy or to rent. They offer more privacy and independence than a care bedroom and are a real and much-needed alternative to the type of accommodation available in existing residential care homes.
A Close Care Unit will comprise bedroom(s) with an en-suite bathroom/shower room, lounge, and galley kitchen with microwave and fridge. They will also have carpets and curtains fitted. All residents subscribe to a package which includes all food, inclusive of restaurant meals, soft drinks, tea and coffee, all heating, lighting and water utilities and a daily cleaning and laundry service.
95 Assisted Living Units & 16 Linked Assisted Living Units
These offer a semi-independent lifestyle and are designed to make life as easy and enjoyable as possible.
They usually comprise a sitting room, one or two bedrooms, one or two bathrooms and a kitchen.
Assisted Living Units are available to purchase or rent. Whilst they all have easy access, they are ideally suited to the more physically able or a couple where one partner will need some personal or mobility assistance.
